I just wanted to take the time to write about a small improvement (literally!) to my personal security hygiene.
That small improvement is called a Yubikey! For those unaware, a Yubikey is a hardware-based MFA device. It supports an MFA standard known as FIDO2, which is much more secure than TOTP.
My goal is to implement this wherever possible and remove SMS authentication. I will still be using TOTP as a backup in case I lose my Yubikeys (I own two, technically).
In 2025, you can never be too secure!
